Thanks are in order

I only wish I knew WHO to thank!

It seems that someone loves our oldest son...and us. When Brent and I talked Saturday night, we talked about him coming home for Tim's funeral. He said he wanted to and would look Sunday afternoon to book a plane ticket, but that he just wasn't up for it that night. We talked about some other alternatives, then moved on. He assured me he'd let me know what his schedule would be.

Later Saturday night I was online and I got an email. It was an itinerary for Brent, flying home for a long weekend. It surprised me a bit, but I didn't think much of it, just assumed that Brent had taken care of things sooner than he anticipated. But it turns out he was as surprised as I was. Maybe more! Someone booked him a round trip flight from Boise home using their frequent flyer miles. They sent itinerary notices to Brent and to me. Our boy will be home for a weekend! There aren't words to describe how grateful I am..... Knowing that we'll be able to spend some time with our guy, to give him some hugs and see for ourselves that he's really doing okay, to just be able to love on him...what a gift!! This young man of ours is headed off to a new adventure in a few months, and time with him is beyond precious. There's not a day that goes by that I don't miss him, don't wish that he could be home with us for a bit longer, don't wish for some way to have him around NOW, not just in October and November. And God has answered the prayers of this Momma.

Whoever you are, know that your gift is greatly appreciated. More than words can ever say. As a matter of fact, there are no words, only tears of joy. You have blessed us immensely, and I am incredibly grateful. God bless you.

  1. Wow! I thought it was something special when I walked into Starbucks one day and someone had already bought my cup of coffee. What a wonderful act of kindness.

I'm really sorry to hear of Brent's friends.
